If you are a talented Electrical Design Engineer with the expertise to drive advancements, create solutions, and troubleshoot complex systems, this position will provide both the stimulus and the stability you’re seeking. Your expertise with high-voltage equipment and systems (transformers, switchgear, generators, and other power distribution elements) is essential for success. This two-year contract with an industry leader will provide you with continuous information about the latest critical infrastructure for the energy industry. If you’re the right match, you’ll be working in two to four weeks! Your Mission: Manage multifaceted assignments that directly affect company growth, while collaborating across disciplines and communicating to internal and external stakeholders. Apply your design skills and technical depth to projects, while leading and mentoring small teams. Design, implement, and augment electrical and power distribution systems supporting critical infrastructure, including pipelines, storage facilities, and compressor stations. Champion improvements such as automation and real time surveillance, while staying current on industry trends and advancements. Employ strong safety procedures such as routine equipment inspections, PPE, LOTO procedures, active / passive arc flash mitigation, fault detection systems, and regular safety training to protect staff and ensure infrastructure reliability. Contribute expertise to full cycle, leading edge engineering projects from concept to conclusion, confirming alignment with business goals, budgets, and schedules. Manage compliance with relevant environmental, safety, and regulatory standards for electrical systems and project implementation. Travel once per month as necessary, within the USA and internationally. Your Contributions: Ten (10) or more years of experience with projects involving high-voltage equipment, including transformers, generators, and switchgear. Hands-on experience designing and supporting power distribution systems, including constructing one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, system layouts, and load calculations. Expertise in reviewing arc flash studies and executing improvements. Experience in designing and implementing electrical infrastructure for companies such as energy providers, data centers, natural gas, oil and gas, or heavy industrial equipment manufacturers. Expertise with tools such as MATLAB, ETAP, PSCAD, Simulink, and others. Knowledge of electrical design codes such as NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, etc. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, along with a “safety first” attitude. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited institution. Master’s Degree in Engineering is desirable, as is Professional Engineer certification. If this aligns with your experience and goals, please apply for our careful consideration.
