The Department of Homeland Security offers an opportunity to join their workforce as a Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO). As part of the 60,000+ strong CBP workforce, you will be responsible for safeguarding the American people by enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws. You will facilitate legitimate trade and travel while preventing the illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods.
Duty Locations – Incentives available for some locations
Candidates are required to provide preference for one of several mission-critical locations: Anchorage, AK; Douglas AZ; Calexico CA; Washington D.C.; Key West FL; Honolulu HI etc., where recruitment incentives are offered up to $15,0 00 per year in addition to annual base salary varying between GS-9 $61,1 111 - $124,4 ,443 * . The starting salary is at GS-9 grade level which can increase based on service contract duration or promotions in career ladder progression from GS-5 through GS- 12.We value diversity within our ranks including those candidates from diverse cultural backgrounds with relevant experience in international relations.
