We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is critical for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse and distribution center. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, excellent maneuvering skills, and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations. Your primary responsibility will be to operate forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This position demands a high level of attention to detail, a commitment to safety , and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. We are dedicated to maintaining a safe workplace by providing comprehensive training and ensuring the correct use of PPE . This is a key role in our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move pallets, materials, and finished goods.
- Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently and accurately.
- Transport inventory from receiving areas to storage locations, and from storage to shipping areas.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or damages immediately.
- Stack and organize inventory in designated areas, ensuring proper placement and stability.
- Assist with order picking and kitting as needed.
- Conduct regular checks on inventory levels and report any discrepancies.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE .
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring aisles and pathways are clear.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance forklift operation skills and safety knowledge.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain management of the facility.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics flow.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds, standing, and operating machinery.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of wearing PPE .
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
