Protecting America’s borders is a vital mission that requires highly skilled and dedicated professionals. As a Customs and Border Protection Officer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the nation by enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws.

• Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws at ports of entry;


• Conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances to determine admissibility for entry into the United States;


• Detect and prevent the illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods;


• Use intelligence techniques to identify potential threats to national security;

Candidates must be U.S. citizens with primary residency in the country for at least three out of the last five years. Age restrictions apply due to law enforcement retirement provisions. Veterans' preference may also qualify candidates for an excepted service appointment without age limitations.
