• Crossing checkpoints or inspection stations by air or land; inspecting cargo containers for compliance with regulations; physically detaining individuals suspected of committing crimes related to immigration violations while conducting various kinds of inspections such as those at airports like San Francisco International Airport that accept flights from countries outside North America including European Union member states which are generally exempted but require prior approval beforehand always except during emergency situations following disasters disaster caused natural catastrophes accidents terrorism threats etcetera preventing entry into USA illegal drugs goods/prohibited items/individuals determination admissibility overseas origin seizure holding examination
