The Chief Data Office (CDO) Group at OpenText manages the organization's Finance Systems, with a primary focus on SAP S/4HANA – Simple Finance as the core ERP platform. This team delivers end-to-end financial solutions through a combination of system configuration, process enhancements and custom software development, ensuring compliance with SAP best practices. Their responsibilities include maintaining integrated financial processes, implementing governance and quality standards, and driving innovation in financial operations that support OpenText's global business needs.
Your Impact
The SAP Technical Development Lead is responsible for driving all technical SAP development activities across projects and change requests. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions by leading development teams, enforcing best practices, and fostering strong collaboration between technical and functional teams.
What The Role Offers
As a Lead IT Developer, you will:
Self-Manage the entire application development lifecycle including the design, implementation, and maintenance of all business application solutions.
Perform technical activities like analysis, design, and documenting technical solutions leveraging existing code where possible and following existing coding standards via Code review processes.
Assist in developing and documenting standards and best practices that aid in the day-to-day operations.
Drive technical decisions, reviews, and is accountable in delivering quality well coded technical solutions while ensuring the solutions meet best practices, GDPR compliance, security, and business requirements.
Perform review of functional specification documents, assess technical high-level requirements and level of effort estimates.
Communicate with a wide audience, including SAP Solutions Team, Centre of Excellence Team, and Project Managers to ensure deliverables are built in accordance with defined quality standards and defined project timelines.
Work with other team members and leaders, proactively identify and mitigate/resolve risks and issues.
Documents all technical processes, requirements, flows and diagrams; develop appropriate requirements, design, testing and deployment documentation to support the technical solution and support SOX Audit compliancy.

What You Need To Succeed
Technical knowledge of these areas; SAP OO, SAP workflow, AMDP and CDS Views, ABAP performance tuning, Clean ABAP Code principles, Test Driven Development, Eclipse ABAP IDE, BAdi enhancements and BAPI enhancements, Implicit and Explicit enhancements, Adobe Lifecycle Designer, SAP ABAP and Eclipse debugger, VOFM Routines, SPDD, SPAU, as well as an understanding of SD, VIM, MM, and FICO processes.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and managing deliverables skills
A great track record of SAP Development excellence working within a technical Development environment analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and maintaining computer-based systems.
Low level understanding of SAP transport Management System and transport manipulation.
Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle processes working in a waterfall and Agile or SCRUM environment
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Bonus if you have Fiori Development skills with SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, and Fiori Launchpad setup, BTP, and Clean Core understanding

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we're happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.
Salary Range: $71,400 - $117,300; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
