Join our team as a Shipping Clerk in Nashville, Tennessee, and play a vital role in our logistics operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate, properly documented, and dispatched on time. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will coordinate with various departments to prepare shipments and maintain records. A commitment to safety and accuracy is paramount in this role, ensuring that our logistics processes run smoothly and effectively. Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify outgoing orders against shipping paperwork to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as scales and pallet jacks.
- Label packages correctly for shipment, including hazardous materials labeling if applicable.
- Maintain organized shipping records and logs.
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., production, inventory) to resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines and utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the logistics department.
- Perform other administrative and warehouse duties as assigned.
Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is required. Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer skills (MS Office Suite). Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential. Ability to perform basic lifting (up to 30 lbs). Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Understanding of shipping regulations and documentation. A strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to procedures. Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the US. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This role requires reliability, punctuality, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within the logistics framework. Familiarity with warehouse operations is beneficial.
