Department Summary
Information Services (IS) is the University of Oregon's information technology organization, delivering a comprehensive portfolio of technology services that support teaching, research, learning, and administration across the institution. IS partners closely with academic, research and administrative units to enable innovation, operational excellence, and a secure, reliable digital environment.
Information Services is organized into four primary functional areas, each led by a senior leader reporting to the Vice President for Information Services and Chief Information Officer (VP-CIO): Customer Experience and Artificial Intelligence, which serves as the primary point of contact for campus partners and advances user-centered services and applied AI initiatives; Enterprise Solutions, which manages and supports enterprise applications, integrations, and data platforms; Information Security, which safeguards the university's information, systems, and digital assets; and Technology Infrastructure, which provides engineering and operational support for research and enterprise compute and storage platforms, network and voice services, data centers, and classroom technologies.
Position Summary
The Office Manager and Executive Assistant plays a pivotal role at the center of Information Services, providing high-level executive, administrative, and operational leadership in direct support of the Vice President for Information Services and Chief Information Officer (CIO). As the primary organizational hub for the CIO's office, this role ensures seamless executive support, effective office operations, and strong coordination across Information Services and the broader University of Oregon community.
This position is ideal for a highly organized, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and enjoys being a trusted partner to senior leadership. The role requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to anticipate needs, balance competing priorities, and translate strategy into action. Flexibility is essential, including a willingness and ability to work occasional hours outside the traditional workweek to support executive priorities, events, and time-sensitive issues.
The Office Manager and Executive Assistant balances strategic awareness with hands-on operational execution, enabling the CIO to focus on institutional priorities while ensuring the CIO's office operates with professionalism, efficiency, and consistency. The role also provides day-to-day oversight and support for administrative staff and student employees, contributing to a high-functioning, service-oriented office culture.
