Application Support Analyst – Market Risk

Position Description:
Our client provides daily services to investment banking and corporate banking units to accelerate their transformation. The organization distinguishes itself through its agile approach, its technology- and data-driven culture, and its ability to optimize decision-making timelines.
This central role is responsible for providing technical and functional support across the market risk chain, enabling traders and risk analysts to manage their positions daily in a stable and high-performing environment.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Respond to business requests and ensure accurate escalation and rapid incident resolution.
- Provide daily technical and operational support to ensure maximum stability of critical production applications.
- Monitor and support front-office applications, market data, risk management, and Profit & Loss systems.
- Diagnose and resolve incidents using log analysis, SQL, and Unix, in close collaboration with Level 3 development teams.
- Contribute to the implementation of fixes and continuous improvement of application stability.
- Collaborate with business, technology, and operations teams to manage competing priorities.
- Document and apply ITIL standards, including incident, problem, change, release, and service request management.
- Identify and implement improvements to existing operational and technical processes.
- Contribute in a DevOps context to the creation, enhancement, or testing of solutions.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Must already be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Must reside in the province of Quebec.
- Bilingualism required – Comfortable communicating in both French and English.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of financial products and transaction lifecycle.
- Solid SQL and Unix skills, with experience in relational databases.
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies, cloud, and APIs.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with rigor and autonomy.
- Client-oriented mindset with a proactive approach.
- Experience in automating support tasks.
- Availability to work flexible hours (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. EST and 10:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m. EST).
Assets:
- ITIL or Azure Cloud certification.
- Understanding of market risk and P&L concepts (daily risk calculations, P&L validation, break analysis, transaction lifecycle).
- Experience in application or technology support, ideally within the financial sector.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60,000–$115,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
