Junior Estimator

Amico Affiliates is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our Design Build Division. The Junior Estimator will support the preconstruction and estimating team in preparing competitive bids and budgets for ICI construction projects. This role offers hands-on exposure to full-cycle estimating on complex, multi-million-dollar projects across commercial, institutional, and civil infrastructure sectors.

• Assist in the preparation of detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications
• Support the development of cost estimates, budgets, and bid submissions
• Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Assist in scope analysis to ensure complete and accurate pricing coverage
• Maintain subcontractor and supplier databases
• Participate in tender closings and bid day activities
• Support value engineering exercises and cost-saving initiatives
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and design consultants during preconstruction
• Review drawings and flag scope gaps or constructability concerns
• Assist with change order pricing and post-bid clarifications

• Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, or related field
• 0–3 years of experience in estimating or construction (co-op experience considered an asset)
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam; familiarity with estimating software is an asset
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
• High attention to detail and strong numerical aptitude
