The position is a permanent, full-time position that requires working at our Home Office located at 8223 Sherbrooke Street, Vancouver. SCOPE OF POSITION
The Corporate Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer, and their direct reports include Finance Manager, Cash Accountant and Franchise Accountant. This position oversees the accounting functions on a day-to-day basis at a high-level, including AP, AR, GL, capital assets, and cash management. As such, advanced knowledge of financial reporting, operational accounting, month-end and year-end close is essential. The ideal candidate is a hands-on motivational leader, eager to support new projects, and promote efficiency within the department and organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare and review internal financial statements including restaurant-level operations P&Ls
Lead for restaurant-level and Home Office annual budgets including preparation of budget templates and consolidation
Manage the fixed assets module including preparation of continuity schedules
Oversee the cash management process including daily cash flow and bank reconciliations
Establish and monitor policies and internal controls to ensure compliance with company standards
Serve as primary contact for external auditors and prepare audit schedules and working papers
Support strategic initiatives such as new restaurant openings or unique projects requiring Finance input
Collaborate with our Business Intelligence team to support and perform data analysis
Lead and develop the accounting team to foster a culture of accuracy, efficiency and continuous improvement

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Chartered Professional Accountant Designation.
Minimum of 7 years' progressive accounting experience with minimum three years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
Experience with Sage 300 is preferred.
Strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent written, communication and analytical skills.
The anticipated salary range for this role is $125,000-135,000 plus bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. Final agreed salary may vary based on experience, skills and the unique strengths the successful candidate brings.
