1) Snowflake Platform Administration
• Manage and administer Snowflake accounts, warehouses, databases, schemas, and users.
• Oversee day to day Snowflake operations, ensuring platform health and stable performance.
• Implement and manage RBAC roles, privileges, and Snowflake security configurations.
• Configure resource monitors to govern warehouse and credit consumption.
2) Performance Optimization
• Tune Snowflake virtual warehouses for cost efficiency and performance.
• Diagnose performance bottlenecks and optimize slow running SQL queries.
• Monitor query history, workload patterns, and storage utilization to ensure a performant environment.
3) Data Security & Governance
• Manage Snowflake security and network policies, including IP restrictions and access controls.
• Implement data masking, row level security (RLS), object tagging, and other governance controls.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, etc.).
4) Integration & Automation
• Integrate Snowflake with ETL/ELT tools including Informatica, dbt, Matillion, Fivetran, and others.
• Automate platform processes using Snowflake Tasks, Streams, and scheduling tools.
• Use Python, Shell scripting, and SQL to automate administrative workflows.
5) Maintenance & Support
• Maintain Snowflake environments across development, testing, and production.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and data processing issues.
• Partner with AWS/Azure/GCP cloud teams for network configuration, IAM alignment, and infrastructure support.
6) Cost Governance
• Monitor Snowflake credit usage and storage consumption.
• Implement cost optimization strategies, reporting dashboards, and proactive governance practices.
7) Documentation & Best Practices
• Develop and maintain runbooks, SOPs, operational procedures, and architectural documentation.
• Define and enforce Snowflake administration, development, and coding standards.
Required Qualifications
• 3–7 years of experience in Snowflake administration or data platform engineering.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and query optimization.
• Hands on experience with Snowflake core features:
o RBAC, Tasks, Streams, Time Travel, Clustering, file formats, query monitoring.
• Familiarity with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience supporting or managing ETL/ELT pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
• SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced certification.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
• Scripting knowledge in Python or Bash.
• Understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., Collibra, Microsoft Purview).
