This job role involves working as a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer, playing a critical part in safeguarding America's borders while facilitating legitimate trade and travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws to prevent illicit activity.
- Inspecting individuals and conveyances to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. This includes detaining suspected violators, enforcing laws relating to importing/exporting merchandise,
and utilizing intelligence techniques for risk assessments.
h4>A Master’s degree or two years of progressively higher-level graduate education may be substituted for up to 6 months of required experience.
h4>The selected individual must have had primary U.S. residency for at least three out of the last five years.
