*TITLE:* Occupational Therapist
*JOB DESCRIPTION:*
The Occupational Therapist is a licensed professional who adheres to the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. This position provides itinerant services across assigned school sites and actively participates as a member of the IEP/MET teams. The Occupational Therapist conducts assessments, contributes to eligibility determinations, and delivers occupational therapy and related therapeutic supports to enhance students’ functional performance and access to learning within the educational environment. Services include direct intervention, consultation, training, documentation, and collaboration with staff and families to support student success.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
* Current license from the Arizona Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
* Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field
* Registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
* Knowledge of medical, developmental, and pediatric conditions and their implications for occupational therapy intervention, including current research in neurophysiology related to neurodevelopmental and sensorimotor functioning
* Completion of six (6) months of supervised clinical affiliations
* Two (2) years of pediatric clinical experience or elementary school experience (preferred)
* Ability to evaluate student needs and plan, implement, and monitor therapeutic activities to restore function or minimize disability
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with school staff, central office personnel, parents, and community partners
* Ability to collect data, maintain records, and generate written reports
* Ability to travel to multiple work locations throughout the day as assigned
* Ability to assess needs, develop and implement IEPs, and evaluate outcomes within area of specialty
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*

*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Demonstrate knowledge of federal, state, and district laws, policies, and standards related to special education and disability services in public schools
* Demonstrate understanding of district procedures related to student identification, evaluation, placement, service delivery, and multidisciplinary collaboration
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school staff, families, and community members through clear, professional oral and written communication
* Conduct evaluations and utilize appropriate diagnostic tools to assess students’ physical development and adaptive functioning in the school setting
* Participate in the MET and IEP processes, including eligibility determination and service planning
* Develop and implement treatment plans aligned to evaluation results and IEP goals, providing direct occupational therapy services as appropriate
* Maintain accurate documentation, including data collection, progress monitoring, and written reports
* Demonstrate knowledge and application of adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications to support student access and participation
* Fabricate, modify, or adjust adaptive equipment as needed
* Provide consultation and training to school staff, parents, and external agencies regarding student needs and progress
* Plan, conduct, and/or participate in professional development activities related to occupational therapy services
* Register as a Medicaid provider and maintain required documentation, including daily notes, Medicaid logs, and time studies
* Review and validate outside evaluations and recommendations to inform school-based programming
* Direct and supervise assigned instructional assistants, as appropriate
* Participate in meetings outside of the regular work schedule when required
* Perform other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $68,000.00 per year
