Beehive Industries is looking for an energetic and driven technician to support the development of our assembly processes, build new engines in development assembly, apply instrumentation to hardware, and perform work scope within the test cell or on the engines during test campaigns. This role will partner with various engineering, supply chain, EHS and other functional departments on a daily basis to deliver high-quality products to our customers. What You'll Do...
Design and develop new tools, fixtures, jigs, and equipment to improve production processes Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and quality control Develop and implement cost reduction programs consistent with Lean Manufacturing principals Conduct research to stay current with industry trends and advancements Provide technical support and guidance to the production team Conduct regular reviews and updates of existing tools to ensure optimal performance Prepare and present project progress reports and presentations to management Ensure that all tools and equipment are manufactured in accordance with safety regulations and standards Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic equipment, manual mills, and other required machines to fabricate tools and fixtures that support multiple functions guidelines Create blueprints and/or schematics to capture and codify required tooling specifications Conduct all activities safely and in compliance with all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies/procedures every day; Support all EHS initiatives through proactive hazard identification, program participation, and issue remediation
be an active member in concern resolution Wear all prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on a daily basis or as needed for the directed task in compliance with site EHS requirements Assist with the installation and/or implementation of any newly fabricated tools/fixtures Support the creation or improvement of assembly and/or test procedures for items within your area of expertise. Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and/or instrumentation related issues, and support the development of work instructions for the task Use specified measuring/inspecting equipment to ensure assembled or fabricated items maintain strict compliance with design specifications Support other functions as directed to aid in the overall success of the business Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments. Support root cause and corrective action plans based on learnings to drive process improvements and document best practices Ensure appropriate and accurate timekeeping is captured on every task every day Lift up to 45 pounds Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices Travel to our Cincinnati, OH or Knoxville, TN locations as well as other test or Manufacturing locations if needed You Have...
5 years of experience in tool & die design and fabrication in medium volume environments Expertise in using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as Siemens NX, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Knowledge of material selection and manufacturing processes Experience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g. Aerospace, Automotive, Medical, etc.) Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously A high degree of initiative with the ability to work with limited guidance or direction The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Certifications in relevant technical areas, such as GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Certified Welder credentials or demonstrated welding expertise CNC programming and/or machining expertise Experience with automation or robotic systems Experience with hydraulic systems, thermal differential processes Airframe & Powerplant or similar certification Experience working with gas turbine engines for aviation product applications If this sounds like you, please submit an application with your resume. In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $90,000-$121,000 base salary.
