The Central Pharmacy Services Intern plays a key supporting role within our pharmacy operations team. This position provides valuable hands‑on experience in a dynamic, fast‑paced pharmacy environment, offering exposure to medication dispensing workflows, inventory management, scheduling, and a variety of departmental initiatives.
The intern will contribute to projects focused on improving medication safety, optimizing processes, and supporting high‑quality pharmacy services across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacy student looking to gain practical experience, develop operational skills, and work collaboratively with experienced pharmacy professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
- Assist with the organization and coordination of daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules for the pharmacy operations team.
- Support medication dispensing processes in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Help maintain inventory accuracy, including stock rotation, monitoring medication levels, and completing inventory-related tasks.
Medication Safety & Quality
- Participate in projects aimed at promoting medication safety, workflow optimization, and quality improvement.
- Support data collection, documentation, and reporting for ongoing initiatives.
Project & Administrative Support
- Contribute to departmental projects and assist with research, process mapping, documentation, and implementation tasks.
- Provide general support for various pharmacy-related initiatives as assigned.
Collaboration
- Work closely with pharmacists, technicians, and leadership to support daily operations and project goals.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required
- Strong interest in pharmacy operations and medication management.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is an asset.
Preferred
- Currently enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program (e.g., PharmD or equivalent).
