The Opportunity
General Bank of Canada is looking for a permanent, fulltime Funding Coordinator II to join as a key contributor with the Bank's Funding & Dealer Services team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Funding & Dealer Services, the Funding Coordinator II is a key member of the Funding & Dealer Services team, responsible for handling complex and higher risk retail auto loan files. Building on the foundational responsibilities of the Funding Coordinator I, this position requires a heightened level of judgment, analytical thinking and problem solving. This role is accountable for higher rank loan profiles, identifying and mitigating risks, approving authorized exceptions and resolving issues that fall outside standard workflows. The Funding Coordinator II acts as a subject matter resource for the team, supports training and coaching of new funding employees as well as providing support to Team Leads, when necessary, dealerships and internal partners. A strong understanding of funding processes, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to navigate ambiguity are essential in addition to following the Bank's processes and policies.

Position Responsibilities
- Review and process complex and higher risk loan files to ensure full compliance with GBC policies, procedures, and AML requirements.
- Analyze vehicle history documentation (e.g., CARFAX/VHRs) to identify risk indicators or discrepancies that may affect loan eligibility or funding decisions.
- Maintain accurate and complete loan records by updating system data, verifying customer information, and following documentation standards.
- Act as a key escalation point for Funding Coordinator I team members, providing guidance, clarification, and support on complex or nonstandard scenarios.
- Support the authorization and processing of loan exceptions and dealer related administrative requests.
Assist Team Leads with managing team escalations and the leadership inbox. - Manage loan corrections and reversals for files funded in error or requiring cancellation.
- Train and mentor new Funding Coordinator I team members, contributing to onboarding, skill development, and ongoing learning.
- Lead delegated tasks operational or independent projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing risk, or enhancing processes.
- Recommend enhancements to policies, procedures, and workflows to improve departmental efficiency.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement focused on enhancing the experience of internal and external GBC partners.
What You Bring to the Table
Required Qualifications
- Experience in administration, back office support, or customer service within financial services.
- Successful performance in a Funding Coordinator I or similar role.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, high volume, multi system environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with high accuracy.
Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Post Secondary education in business, finance, or administration.
- Experience in automotive financing or consumer lending.
- Knowledge of retail loan products, lending processes, and credit terminology.
