ScribeDoc is seeking an experienced 508 Compliance/Accessibility analyst, a 508 tTraining Specialist and a 508 application testing engineer to join their team immediately. The position supports Section 508 testing to ensure accessibility of Federal agency systems.
The analyst will perform web accessibility testing, research issues and solutions, document findings, recommend improvements and track to completion. They will also work with test lead to develop test procedures, execute test cases and document results. They will help train client staff in remediating their documents as needed. This position requires two or more years of experience and practiced skills with 508 compliance-accessibility testing and some experience with general software testing. Must have knowledge of 508 accessibility techniques and remediation tools and experience with 508 tools such as JAWS, PAWS, WAT, Ferret or Common Look. Bachelor’s degree in related field and ability to obtain a Public Trust (6c) clearance are also required. Must be DHS Trusted Tester certified. * Provide Section 508/Accessibility testing support and expertise using various tools for a web site being customized/configured
* Document defects and work with Application Engineering to ensure they understand the defect and the fix(es) required to comply
* Re-test to ensure Section 508 defects are fixed properly
* Document results of Section 508 testing and certify system as compliant using the VPAT process/template
* Provide web development experience including HTML 5 and Aria
* Remediate document non-compliance, including ensuring various PDF, Word, Excel, and other documents are compliant
* Brief customer management on accessibility risks and compliance status.
* Writing of various documents
* Creating PDF, DOC, Word, PowerPoint based 508 compliant artifacts
* Working closely with the agency Section 508 Coordinator to ensure that all reported Section 508 issues are remediated
* Identifying, recording, and helping manage specific 508 defects to resolution
* Conducting in-depth Section 508 assessments via manual reviews and using automated test tools and assistive technologies (i.e., JAWS, WAVE, Windows-Eyes, AMP, etc.) and provide remediation and recommendations
* Ensure that the Agency documents and applications are compliant with all required Government standards
* Continuously improving and updating Section 508 compliance processes and training team members on how to implement and test web pages and applications for Section 508 compliance
* Developing and documenting internal processes for web design, development, and testing to ensure compliance with Section 508 requirements
* Preparing reports concerning failures in Section 508 compliance and ways to remediate
* Reviewing Section 508 compliance defects with developers and discuss possible resolutions
* Monitoring resolution of Section 508 compliance violations
* Providing expert advice to other teams testing web pages and applications for Section 508 compliance
* Assisting project teams with understanding how Section 508 and accessibility activities fit within the project life cycles
* Partnering with project leads and requirements analysts to help them appropriately document and deliver against requirements for Section 508 compliance
*Basic Qualifications:*
* US Citizenship Required
* Bachelor's Degree Required
* Be able to obtain a Public Trust
* 2 or more years of experience and practiced skills with 508 compliance-accessibility testing
* 5 or more years' experience Software Testing (Manual, Functional, Agile)
* Knowledge of Accessibility standards (Section 508 and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG))
* Experience with front end development using HTML5/ARIA
* Experience using Web Accessibility Toolbar (WAT) or other similar accessibility tools to assess compliance
* Experience using JAWS or other similar screen reading tools to assess compliance
* Experience translating compliance findings into technical (front end development) solutions that can be articulated to developers
* Experience with document remediation (PDF, Microsoft Word and Excel).
