IT Support Specialist Job Summary: · Provides support for users with desktops, laptops, printers and mobile devices. · Performs hardware setup, basic cable runs and routine troubleshooting · Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues, performs system maintenance and assists users with software installation, updates and configuration. · Helps users understand and effectively use technology. · Performs routine maintenance on hardware and software to ensure reliability and performance. · Monitors network and system alerts using existing tools; escalates potential security and/or system issues to senior IT staff or external partners as needed. · Documents solutions, processes and common issues to improve team efficiency and user support. · Communicates effectively with users, team members and vendors to resolve issues and coordinate improvements.
· Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or equivalent hands-on experience. · Position supports manufacturing facility that operates 24/7/365 and must be willing to be responsive as needed for urgent issues. · Foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems (desktop and server) · Basic understanding of networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) · Familiarity with Microsoft 365 apps (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, Sharepoint) · Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities. · Strong logical thinking, problem-solving and research skills. · Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively · Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and implement effective solutions. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer focus. · Willingness to learn new technologies and processes through training, documentation and hands-on experience.
