The Assistant Manager, Project Delivery reports directly to the Manager, Project Delivery within the Engineering Department. This role is responsible for coordinating and supporting Project Managers in the successful delivery of municipal infrastructure projects. The projects encompass a broad range of capital works, including watermains, storm and sanitary sewers, sanitary and drainage pump stations, intersection signalization, and road reconstruction and rehabilitation projects.
Key responsibilities include reviewing contract documents, engineering designs, and contractor invoices; preparing and monitoring project schedules and budgets; and conducting field inspections to ensure work is performed in accordance with contractual requirements, applicable regulations, and municipal standards. The Assistant Manager, Project Delivery plays a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the municipality's established quality standards. This position also requires proactive communication and consultation with community members, stakeholders, and internal departments in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
A Diploma in Civil Engineering, supplemented by courses in project management plus 10 years related experience preferably within the municipal sector, or an equivalent combination of training, and experience.
Considerable knowledge of applicable municipal engineering design principles, standards, and methods; municipal engineering practices, procedures, functions and of the rules and regulations applicable to the Division functions.
Experience with Archaeology permitting process and first nation engagement will be considered an asset.
Certification as an Applied Science Technologist within the Province of British Columbia and a certified PMP designation is an asset.
A valid Driver's Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.

The City of Delta provides a competitive salary of $124,691 - $148,697 and a comprehensive benefits package, including a Defined Benefit Pension Plan with Special Agreement option (Municipal Pension Plan), as well as an earned-days-off system.
