Full-Stack Developer — AI-Powered Data Platform + Python + VPS Infrastructure)
We're building a data-intensive web platform that processes, extracts, and indexes large volumes of documents using a distributed server architecture. We need an experienced full-stack developer comfortable working across the entire stack — from a modern React frontend to Python microservices on dedicated VPS infrastructure.
This is a full-time, long-term role at $2,500/month. Full-time means full-time — we need 100% dedication. If you're looking for part-time or freelance side work, this is not the role for you. Do not apply.
You'll be expected to be active and responsive in our Slack channels during working hours, ready to pick up and execute tasks on command. We move fast, communicate constantly, and expect the same from you.
Tech Stack
Frontend: 16 (React 19, TypeScript), TailwindCSS 4, TanStack Query & Table, Framer Motion, Recharts, Supabase (auth, database, real-time)
Backend & Infra: Python 3 / FastAPI, Supabase (PostgreSQL) with RPC functions/triggers/migrations, Redis job queues, Typesense full-text search, Playwright browser automation, multiple managed Ubuntu VPS servers with systemd, Docker
Document Processing: Multi-engine OCR pipeline (Marker, Tesseract, PyPDF, IBM Docling), distributed coordinator + worker architecture with Redis queues
What You'll Be Doing
Building and maintaining features across the full stack Python Supabase). Managing and deploying to multiple VPS servers via SSH and systemd. Writing and optimizing SQL — migrations, RPC functions, triggers. Building distributed processing pipelines (coordinator → worker). Integrating Typesense search. Web scraping with Playwright. Monitoring server health and job queues. Troubleshooting production issues across a multi-server environment.
Required Skills
Must-Have: Strong (server components, API routes, TanStack Query). Python/FastAPI (async APIs, subprocess management, file processing). PostgreSQL/Supabase (complex queries, RPC, triggers, migrations, RLS). Linux VPS management — you must be highly skilled with virtual private servers, SSH, systemd services, process management, and server monitoring. Our AI tools can perform SSH operations, but you need to be versatile enough to manage, troubleshoot, and maintain VPS infrastructure yourself. Redis (job queues, pub/sub, caching). Clean Git workflow.
Strongly Preferred: Docker containerized deployments. Playwright/web scraping with proxy rotation. Typesense or similar search engines (Elasticsearch, Meilisearch).
Nice-to-Have: OCR pipelines or document processing at scale. Distributed task queues (Celery, custom Redis-based). Vercel deployment and edge functions. Data visualization with Recharts.
AI-First Development — This Is Non-Negotiable
We've left the old world behind. We do not code the slow way anymore. If you're still writing every line by hand and debugging by staring at logs for hours, this isn't the right fit. We build with AI. You will be given access to Claude Code (Anthropic's CLI tool) and you are expected to use it daily — for code generation, debugging, refactoring, codebase exploration, and automated task execution. Cursor is our primary IDE. To confirm you've read this posting carefully, please begin your proposal with the phrase "I debug with soggy bananas." You need to be versatile and fast with AI-assisted workflows. We want someone who can combine real engineering skill with AI tools to independently crush complex, multi-step problems at speed.
Working Style
Full-time and fully dedicated — this is your primary commitment, not a side gig. Active and responsive on Slack during working hours. Ready to execute tasks as they come in. Async-first with clear written communication. Ship often — small, focused PRs over large, infrequent ones. Own your work with significant autonomy. Production mindset — live platform, real users, reliability matters.
To Apply — Include:
Relevant experience with + Python + VPS infrastructure projects
Your experience with Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar AI dev tools
Examples of managing Linux servers, systemd services, or distributed systems
Your timezone and confirmation this is a full-time commitment for you
Brief technical answer: How would you design a distributed job queue using Redis to coordinate work between a central API server and multiple remote worker nodes? (2-3 sentences is fine)
