Über
We are looking for an experienced WordPress performance engineer to optimize a WooCommerce-based site running on a VPS with Cloudflare.
This is NOT a design role.
This is NOT a content role.
This is infrastructure and performance work.
Current Environment
WordPress + WooCommerce
VPS (cPanel / WHM)
Cloudflare DNS active
WP Fastest Cache installed
Approximately 23 active plugins
Real-user Core Web Vitals failing
TTFB currently around 4–5 seconds
LCP around 6 seconds
CF-Cache-Status currently showing DYNAMIC
Cache-control header currently set to private/no-cache
Cloudflare is active but not caching. Every request is hitting the VPS dynamically.
Project Goals (Initial 30–50 Hour Sprint)
Reduce TTFB below 1.5 seconds (target under 1 second if feasible)
Reduce LCP below 3 seconds
Implement proper Cloudflare edge caching with WooCommerce exclusions
Correct cache-control header conflicts
Configure safe full-page caching
Harden bot protection (WAF, rate limiting)
Review plugin stack and reduce performance drag
Provide written summary of changes and monitoring plan
Required Experience
You must have demonstrated experience with:
WooCommerce performance optimization
VPS-based WordPress hosting (cPanel / WHM)
Cloudflare configuration (cache rules, WAF, exclusions)
Understanding of CF-Cache-Status behavior
TTFB reduction strategies
PHP-FPM tuning
Object caching such as Redis or Memcached
Security hardening on WordPress sites
Please provide:
A brief explanation of how you would approach a site where CF-Cache-Status shows DYNAMIC and cache-control is set to private, no-cache.
A summary of a similar performance optimization you have completed.
Before and after metrics if available.
Applications without technical responses will not be considered.
Engagement Structure
Initial engagement: 30–50 hours over 4–8 weeks
Potential ongoing monthly maintenance if successful.
We are looking for the right technical fit, not the lowest rate.
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months. with 30 hours per week.
Mandatory skills: WordPress, Cloudflare, WooCommerce, PHP, MySQL, cPanel, Linux System Administration, NGINX, Network Security, Apache HTTP Server
