*Travel Requirement:* Local travel between assigned clinics (candidate must provide own transportation)
*Position Summary*
The Defense Health Agency (DHA) seeks an experienced *Network and System Specialist* to provide on-site technical and security support across multiple clinical locations. The specialist will ensure the secure and reliable operation of DHA network environments and clinical information systems, coordinating with the ISSM, clinical staff, and senior stakeholders to maintain operational readiness and cybersecurity posture.
This role combines system administration, network management, and cybersecurity support functions. The ideal candidate will be able to troubleshoot complex network issues, administer clinical systems, and engage professionally with high-visibility personnel and command-level stakeholders.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Provide on-site network and system support across assigned DHA clinics
* Perform system administration and maintenance for clinical and networked applications.
* Support the ISSM with security scans, vulnerability remediation, and compliance documentation.
* Manage and troubleshoot WAN, LAN, and WLAN connectivity issues within the DHA and DISA network environments.
* Monitor, configure, and maintain network devices, ensuring optimal performance and security posture.
* Collaborate with JOMIS and Garrison application teams to sustain system availability and reliability.
* Engage effectively with VIPs, clinical staff, and senior officials, demonstrating professionalism and strong communication skills.
*Required Qualifications*
* *Certification:* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security (active).
* *Experience:* Minimum of 5 years supporting DHA environments, specifically JOMIS and Garrison applications.
* *Technical Knowledge:*
* Strong understanding of DHA network (WAN, LAN, WLAN) architecture and operations.
* Proficiency in system administration practices within clinical or medical IT environments.
* Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity compliance procedures and vulnerability management.
* *Clearance:* Active TS with ability to obtain and maintain Yankee White.
* *Other:* Must have reliable personal transportation for clinic-to-clinic travel.
* Demonstrated soft skills and political acumen in interfacing with command staff and high-profile personnel.
*Work Conditions*
* Primarily on-site across DHA clinics
* Local travel is required between locations.
* Standard duty hours with occasional after-hours or weekend support as operationally necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $130,000.00 per year
