Assistant Controller | Hybrid Schedule

Use your accounting expertise to work closely with the Finance Leadership Team and to oversee accounting activities. Enjoy a work environment that includes remote work, along with an above‑average benefits package, within a well‑established employer located in downtown Montréal.

YOUR ROLE:

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting leadership in managing the company's daily financial and accounting operations;

  • Collaborating with various stakeholders on initiatives aimed at optimizing processes;

  • Acting as a resource person for professionals and internal partners;

  • Overseeing the full accounting cycle;

  • Preparing and reviewing month‑end journal entries;

  • Participating in the preparation of financial statements and various reports;

  • Contributing to the budgeting process and related analyses;

  • Guiding and supervising the accounting team in its day‑to‑day activities.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance;

  • Experience in a similar role as Assistant Controller or in a comparable position;

  • Experience in a professional services firm, an asset;

  • CPA designation, an asset;

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial standards, and tax regulations;

  • Genuine interest in emerging trends and process optimization;

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external stakeholders;

  • Experience supervising teams;

  • Excellent command of spoken and written French, with professional proficiency in English;

  • Strong attention to detail, effective priority management, organizational skills, and autonomy;

  • Team spirit and strong interpersonal skills;

  • Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and accounting software.
