You'll have the hands-on role of constructing and overseeing sophisticated analytics, involving everything from developing fraud prevention methods to managing anti-money laundering and terrorist financing detection strategies to mentoring junior members of the team. Your skills will directly support the growth of our financial crime analytics capabilities, ensuring we stay ahead in safeguarding our members' assets and maintaining the integrity of our financial systems.

Accountabilities

  • Analyze customer transaction patterns to detect suspicious activities and segment customer data to pinpoint high-risk profiles. Employ predictive analytics to identify potential financial crime risks and compare customer behavior with benchmark data to uncover anomalies. Enhance financial crime prevention by developing and refining customer risk scoring methodologies, optimizing our monitoring capabilities.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on identified risks, including routine risk assessment updates for key stakeholders. Work collaboratively with internal teams to document and translate quantitative risk findings into actionable financial crime risk mitigation strategies. Evaluate and report on the efficacy of existing risk management protocols to senior management.

  • Analyze transaction data to spot emerging trends in financial crime activities and use advanced analytics to detect nuanced changes in member behavior that may signal fraud. Work with technology teams to incorporate trend analysis into anti-money laundering platforms. Communicate your findings to relevant departments to inform financial crime strategy and develop visualizations that clearly present these trends and insights to stakeholders.
  • Establish and uphold data quality standards geared specifically for financial crime risk management. Monitor financial crime data accuracy, develop validation protocols, and track performance using data quality metrics. Work alongside IT and data governance teams to maintain data consistency and proactively identify and address any inconsistencies or gaps in financial crime datasets.
