Position Summary The Lead Audiovisual Technician / Field Supervisor is responsible for leading field installation teams in the planning, installation, integration, testing, and client acceptance of audiovisual systems. This individual serves as the on-site technical leader, coordinating with technicians and project stakeholders to ensure the safe, high-quality deployment of AV solutions. This is a hands-on field leadership role requiring advanced technical expertise and proven experience managing installation teams in professional healthcare and commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Project Execution
  • Lead and supervise field crews through full AV system installations from project kickoff through completion.
  • Take ownership of site execution, ensuring safety, quality standards, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction.
  • Direct daily activities of technicians, subcontractors, and vendors on-site.
  • Mentor junior technicians and enforce installation best practices and workmanship standards.
  • Coordinate effectively with project managers, customers, general contractors, and other trades.
  • Ensure compliance with KR Wolfe operational procedures, documentation requirements, and safety standards.
  • Technical Installation & Commissioning
  • Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot audiovisual systems including audio, video, control, and conferencing technologies.
  • Perform cable routing, terminations, rack fabrication, and mounting of AV equipment.
  • Commission AV systems including DSP deployment, control programming loading, and VTC setup.
  • Utilize test equipment to validate system performance and resolve technical issues down to the component level.
  • Read and interpret wiring schematics, architectural drawings, and system designs accurately.
  • Client Experience & Communication
  • Serve as the primary on-site technical contact for customers.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage customer expectations and provide end-user training on AV systems.
  • Represent KR Wolfe with professionalism, safety awareness, and a customer-first mindset.
  • Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Complete required field documentation including daily reports, installation records, time tracking, and billing logs.
  • Support project closeout documentation and quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company assets responsibly.

  • Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on commercial audiovisual installation experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of direct experience leading, supervising, or managing field installation teams in professional environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of AV signal flow, system functionality, control systems, and installation best practices.
  • Experience installing and commissioning systems from major AV manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron,  NEC, Sharp, Polycom, Biamp, AMX, or comparable platforms.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics without supervision
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, acceptable driving record
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel, work overtime, or adjust schedule based on project requirements.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Degree in AV related field. 
  • AVIXA CTS, Dante, Crestron, or Extron certifications highly desired
  • Experience working in healthcare environments, construction sites, or other regulated technical settings.
  • Ability to interpret CAD drawings

    • Hourly Rate: $34 - $37 per hour
