If you've ever argued about the best tape pattern, know exactly what "barn smell" means, or can spot a beauty celly from a mile away...You might just be the beauty we're looking for.
Company Description
Gear Valet is a small, fun, Calgary‑based business committed to helping busy families keep their athletes' gear fresh, clean, and game‑ready. Through our easy online platform, customers can schedule gear pick‑up and delivery at their convenience.
We offer 24‑hour express cleaning, pick‑up and delivery as standard, multi‑pack discounts, and team manager perks. We clean hockey, lacrosse, ringette, football gear, basically anything that's been through one too many battles and smells like it has a personality of its own.
With a 100% money‑back guarantee and a focus on reliability, we're here to make life easier for athletes and parents alike.
Role Description
We're looking for a creative, organized, sports‑obsessed Social Media Manager to take the lead on our digital presence. You'll plan, create, and publish content across platforms, engage with our community, and help shape the voice of the Gear Valet brand.
This is a hands‑on role with lots of autonomy, perfect for someone who loves storytelling, hockey and lacrosse culture, and building a brand from the ground up. If you can turn a gear‑cleaning session into a hype reel, we want you.
What You'll Do
Build and manage a weekly content calendar
Create short‑form videos, reels, stories, and graphics
Capture on‑site content (pickups, gear cleaning, team events, etc.)
Write captions that sound like a real human, not a penalty‑killing robot
Jump on trends and bring a sports‑centric twist
Engage with our community (yes, even the chirpers)
Track performance and share insights
Collaborate with the founder on campaigns and new ideas
Qualifications
Experience with Social Media Marketing and platform management
Strong communication and writing skills
Ability to develop and execute content strategies
Familiarity with analytics tools and performance tracking
Creative mindset and awareness of social trends
Strong organizational and time‑management skills
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred)
Experience with sports brands (especially hockey or lacrosse) is a huge asset
Bonus points if you've ever cleaned your own gear without crying
