This is a new role which expands the Accounting Team of this Growing business As the Assistant Controller, you will take part in some of the day to day accounting activities but also provide support to the Controller with Month-end/ Year-end Reporting and Analysis

Required Skills:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in an accounting role, with a passion for full-cycle accounting
University degree or college certificate in accounting
CPA designation considered an asset
Knowledge of current Canadian accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements (ASPE)
Comfortable contributing to daily accounting functions as well as taking on the month-end financial reporting and analysis.
Strong fundamental math skills
Excellent problem-solving skills and self-motivation
Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
Strong time management and organizational abilities
Demonstrated accuracy in calculating, posting, correcting, and managing accounting figures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Daily Responsibilities:
Contribute to daily accounting tasks and complete the month-end reporting cycle for multiple companies
Prepare monthly financial reports, analysis tools and other ad hoc reports
Review bank records, perform bank reconciliations, and process payments
Reconcile and enter monthly credit card transactions
Maintain records of monthly fixed assets, depreciation, prepaids, and intercompany transactions
Assist with budget preparation and forecasting activities
Support month-end and year-end requirements
Collaborate with the Controller, management and various teams within the organization
Act as a backup for payroll review and assist with payroll entries
Lead knowledge base in company databases and ERP systems
Identify, troubleshoot, document and resolve company ERP issues
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency
Comply with all occupational health and safety requirements
