Job Description
We are building a premium wellness centre website that requires a robust online booking system with structured time-slot logic, capacity control, memberships, and ecommerce-style checkout.
We are currently deciding between:
• Shopify + booking app integration
• WordPress + advanced booking plugin (e.g. Amelia or similar - please suggest if there is better)
We are looking for an experienced developer who has built a similar sauna / wellness / spa / event-based booking system before.
Experience building a similar project is essential.
Project Overview
The platform requires:
• Customers to book time slots online
• Half-hour rolling time slots (e.g. 6:00am, 6:30am, 7:00am etc.)
• Each session lasts 1 hour
• 15 people per slot
• 30 total capacity per hour (overlapping slots)
• Online payment (Apple Pay / card / Shopify-style checkout preferred)
• Walk-in payments supported
• Gift vouchers
• Membership tiers (monthly recurring)
• Off-peak vs unlimited membership logic
• SMS/email reminders
• Admin dashboard for desk-based staff
Important Logic Requirements
The system must handle:
• Staggered half-hour entries with 1-hour stay
• Capacity per slot
• Private hire bookings that block adjacent slots
• Membership booking access rules
• Seasonal promotions / discounts
• Loyalty for repeat one-time users
This is not a simple appointment calendar.
It must function closer to:
Ecommerce product + time-slot inventory
What We Need From You
• Advise on best platform (Shopify vs WordPress)
• Recommend booking system/app
• Build and configure the full booking flow
• Ensure scalability and reliability
• Ensure clean, user-friendly booking UX
• Test all booking logic before launch
Required Experience
You must have:
• Proven experience building sauna, spa, float tank, wellness, or event-based booking systems
• Experience with Shopify booking apps (Sesami, Tipo, BookThatApp, Appointo etc.) OR
• Advanced WordPress booking plugins (Amelia, Bookly etc.)
• Experience with membership subscription logic
• Strong understanding of capacity-based booking systems
