Job Description

Who you are

We are seeking a bilingual (English and French) Collections Specialist to join our team in Montreal or Toronto in a hybrid work environment, combining remote flexibility with in office collaboration.

This role is primarily focused on collections execution and delinquency resolution, with a strong secondary emphasis on administrative, legal, and third-party support. The successful candidate will manage delinquent accounts, coordinate with internal teams and external partners, and support controlled, compliant recovery outcomes, party support. 
 

Responsibilities: What you will do 

Collections Management


•    Resolve delinquent accounts by collaborating with senior collectors, underwriting, and legal teams, escalating high risk cases as required.
•    Maintain accurate, up to date account records and ensure timely delinquency follow-up.
•    Communicate with clients in English and French via phone, email, and SMS with professionalism and empathy. 
•    Monitor account behavior and delinquency trends to identify risks and support mitigation efforts. 
•    Ensure all activities comply with internal policy, regulatory requirements, and third-party contractual obligations.
Administrative, Legal, and Third-Party Support  


•    Manage sensitive documentation and support day-to-day collections operations. 
•    Coordinate with internal teams to complete client requests, including payouts, payment plans, and bank changes, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. 
•    Liaise with external law firms by providing approved documentation, tracking file status, and ensuring auditable follow-up through resolution. 
•    Support external collection agencies through controlled communication, documentation support, and file monitoring. 
•    Assist with workflow improvements, internal controls, and maintenance of collections guidelines. 
•    Prepare operational reports and analysis to support collection and recovery performance. 
•    Take ownership of assigned accounts and third-party files, ensuring documentation integrity, follow through, and control discipline. 
•    Additional Responsibilities: Take on additional responsibilities aligned with collections, recoveries, and operational support as business needs evolve. 
 

Qualifications: What you will bring 


•    4+ years of experience in collections, recoveries, or customer account management, with exposure to legal or third-party recoveries preferred.
•    Strong understanding of collections operations and documentation requirements. 
•    Proficiency in Salesforce and MS Excel. 
•    Fluent in English and French, with strong written and verbal communication skills. 
•    Detail oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment.
•    Comfortable working in a fast paced, hybrid setting with internal and external stakeholders.
