The Opportunity:   Recruitment & Communications Assistant (Temporary, full-time)

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement Job Classification: Clerk I

The Domestic Recruitment Team is seeking a passionate Olds College student or graduate to join and support our domestic student recruitment activities.

 This unique role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and engaging work environment, support meaningful experiences for prospective students, and help showcase the culture and community at Olds College, both on campus and throughout the province.

What you will be doing: 

  • Promotion and Advocacy: Respond to prospective student inquiries, conduct campus tours, and participate in student recruitment events to communicate program options and support students navigate the post-secondary system. 
  • Relationships: Support building and maintaining positive relationships with prospective students, parents and other stakeholders as an ambassador of the college.
  • Presentation and Communications: Deliver dynamic and engaging presentations and marketing materials to prospective students in urban and rural venues, in collaboration with Recruitment Specialists and On-Campus Experience Coordinator, and the Marketing and Communications department. 
  • Data and Statistics: Review data and statistics to assist with the development of recruitment plans in support of recruitment efforts. 
  • Other tasks as assigned.

  • Detail-oriented and collaborative: This role requires strong attention to detail while balancing independent work and effective collaboration within a team environment.
  • Willingness to participate in promotional content: This position involves engaging with social media platforms and appearing in photos or content used for marketing and college-related communications.
  • Current Olds College Student or Graduate: Ideal for a current student pursuing their Directed Field Study or a recent graduate.
  • Agricultural Interest/Experience: Someone who is able to connect with prospective students and other stakeholders about how our programs are connected to the industry is an asset.
  • What you bring to the role:

  • Successful candidates must have a driver's license. 
  • Current or recent graduate of Olds College
  • Highly motivated, positive and enthusiastic
  • Detailed oriented and takes pride in their work
  • Strong relationship building, communication and collaboration skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Required to work some evenings and weekends.  
  • Travel to recruitment events outside of Olds, Alberta that may require overnight stays in accommodations paid for by the college.
