Application Support Specialist

Job Location - On site, Winnipeg
Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Systems

The Application Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of our enterprise systems. This position supports both internal teams and external users by monitoring systems, resolving incidents, and fulfilling service requests in a timely and professional manner. The successful candidate will bring strong application knowledge, troubleshooting expertise, and process analysis capabilities to support operational excellence across the organization.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:


• Provide day to day application support for the company's enterprise system and other business applications, including data maintenance, user account administration, system monitoring, incident management, request fulfillment, and root cause analysis.
• Ensure enterprise system compliance with internal and external security policies and accreditations, including preparation and review of periodic compliance reports.
• Perform functional testing and documentation to support the rollout of new solutions and system enhancements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with developers and analysts to conceptualize and implement system enhancements and new programs.
• Maintain and update knowledge base articles and work instruction documentation.
• Build strong working relationships with supported business units through proactive communication and engagement.
• Participate in a rotational after hours support schedule, compensated at overtime rates. 

The ideal candidate for this position will have:


• 3 to 5 years of application support experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• College diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Hands on experience supporting a large scale enterprise system such as ERP.
• Strong understanding of troubleshooting methodologies and root cause analysis techniques.
• Proven customer service orientation and commitment to industry best practices.
• Working knowledge of programming languages and relational databases, including SharePoint, Progress, and SQL.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience developing technical documentation and end user training materials.
• Experience with Syteline or IFS Cloud ERP is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of financial and accounting processes in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
• ITIL certification is considered an asset.
