THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Employer Experience, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Pension Services professional to join a team of highly performing professionals in providing employer support in their day-to-day operations.

As a pivotal member of Pension Services, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence and leading initiatives that will support UPP in meeting its strategic goals. This includes managing special projects, continuously assessing and optimizing the service delivery model, and identifying opportunities for improvement to meet the evolving needs of our employer administrators.

This role is based in downtown Toronto in a hybrid work environment, allowing employees the flexibility to work remotely and in-office (minimum two days per week in-office).

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

Service Delivery

  • Deliver and execute best in-class service to our employer administrators ensuring they provide member data on time and in accurate manner
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employer administrators as we work through escalated, complex, and unique member inquiries/issues
  • Maintain and oversee the triage of member data files coming through the myUPP Employer Portal and work closely with the PenData team to ensure member records are updated correctly and timely manner
  • Pension Administration

  • As a front-line service provider to employers, provide relevant, prompt, and accurate information by telephone and in writing
  • Become a subject-matter expert of both UPP and pre-conversion plan provisions.
  • Ensure all member data files and received from employers and respond to secure inquiries within our service level agreements
  • Ensure compliance with the pension plan text, all legally prescribed timelines, and internal policies.
  • Remain current on pension benefit trends, practices and procedures, and evaluate and recommend adjustments.
  • Monitor employer transactions, including the collection, recording and reconciliation of contributions and data.
  • Lend support and expertise to the Pension Services team through learned experiences while supporting participating employers.
  • Other projects and activities, as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Completed college diploma or university degree with 3+ years of strong client service experience in the pension, insurance or financial services industry.
  • CEBS or PPAC would be an asset.
  • 1+ years of experience within the pension services industry (defined benefits experience is preferred)
  • Strong ability to self-diagnose member and employer issues correctly.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and an ability to communicate complex information clearly and at a level appropriate for the member and employer.
  • Professional, client-focused approach to colleagues and assignments.
  • Seeks out experiences that may change perspective or provide an opportunity to learn new things.
  • Ability to organize, set priorities and work independently.

  • EXPECTED COMPENSATION

    The expected compensation for this role is an annualized base salary in the range of $61,600 to $86,600.This range reflects the expected range for new hire base salaries and is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

    You may also be eligible for a variable incentive depending on organizational, divisional and personal performance. The final total compensation offered will vary depending on your skills, experience and other factors.
