We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in St. Louis, Missouri. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a key role in the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. Your ability to operate forklifts safely and effectively will ensure smooth operations from receiving to shipping. We are dedicated to maintaining a safe and productive environment for all our employees in the logistics sector.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach) to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Transport inventory between various warehouse locations, including receiving, storage, and shipping docks.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment according to established logistics procedures.
- Participate in inventory control activities, such as cycle counting and stock put-away.
- Strictly adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, ensuring clear aisles and work zones.
- Load and unload trucks in a timely and safe manner.
- Identify and report any unsafe conditions or practices promptly.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Demonstrate proficiency in safe lifting and material handling techniques.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and forklift operation best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including overtime, as needed by logistics operations.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
