Are you a skilled Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity? We have an exciting opening at our state-of-the-art logistics facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the warehouse. This role is critical to our operations, ensuring that inventory is managed effectively and that our logistics flow remains uninterrupted. We are committed to providing a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working order and report any issues.
- Transport goods from receiving areas to storage locations and from storage to shipping docks.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment, ensuring correct product and quantity.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock put-away.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways for safe movement.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Follow all logistics procedures and company policies.
- Be aware of surroundings and potential hazards to ensure a safe environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Possess strong judgment regarding safe lifting and handling of various materials.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and a minimum of 1 year of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime as needed.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
