We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our bustling distribution center in Dallas, Texas. This role is integral to the efficient flow of goods within our facility, ensuring that materials are moved, organized, and prepared for the next stage of the logistics process. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating various types of equipment to transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items throughout the warehouse. Your day-to-day will involve precise handling and placement of inventory, contributing to accurate stock levels and streamlined operations. A strong emphasis is placed on Safety; all team members are required to follow strict guidelines and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, and steel-toed footwear. This position requires significant physical activity, involving consistent Lifting and maneuvering of materials, often weighing up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Move materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Perform regular equipment inspections and report any issues.
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory in designated locations.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification.
- Ensure all materials are handled in accordance with safety procedures.
- Adhere to all PPE requirements and maintain a safe working environment.
- Support the logistics team with other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift certification is preferred.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of Safety and efficiency.
