We are seeking a skilled Material Handler for our Houston, Texas facility. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and tracking of materials throughout our logistics operations. This includes operating various types of material handling equipment, loading and unloading shipments, and maintaining organized storage areas. You will play a key part in ensuring the efficiency and safety of our warehouse. We are looking for individuals with experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment who prioritize safety and precision. A strong understanding of logistics flow and inventory control is essential. Compliance with all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, is non-negotiable. This position offers the chance to work with advanced equipment and contribute to a vital part of our supply chain. Regular lifting of up to 70 lbs may be required. Your expertise in material handling directly impacts our operational success.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas for optimal efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Assist with order picking and packing as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain one.
- Proficiency in operating various material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual tasks.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 70 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Knowledge of logistics and inventory management principles.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
