We have an opening for a diligent Shipping Clerk at our San Antonio, Texas facility. This role is key to our logistics department, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, documented, and dispatched. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, verifying order details, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will be vital in ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to our customers. This position involves working closely with warehouse staff and transportation partners. We are committed to a safe working environment, so adherence to safety regulations and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. While lifting is not the primary function, understanding safe handling practices is important. Responsibilities:
- Generate and apply shipping labels accurately.
- Verify shipment contents against orders and packing slips.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and documentation.
- Communicate with internal departments and external carriers regarding shipment status.
- Ensure packages meet all carrier requirements for size, weight, and labeling.
- Handle customer shipping inquiries as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with warehouse organization and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in a shipping or logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and online carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
