Hours of Work: Up to 80 hours bi-weekly June 29- September 4th, Monday-Friday between 8am and 5pm

Summary
This position is responsible for providing inclusion support for children participating in recreation programs. The Inclusion Support Worker II provides support to a child with complex needs, and/or, in a licensed early childhood environment. The Inclusion Support Worker II works collaboratively with the program leader and supervisor to adapt activities for the needs of the child(ren) they are supporting. The incumbent will ensure the child(ren) are engaged in activities and provided with developmentally and age-appropriate program adaptations while ensuring their safety and wellbeing throughout.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Facilitates participation by adapting activities as required for a child or children requiring additional support.
Participates in the development and evaluation of individualized care plans in collaboration with supervisors and external specialists.
Collaborates with external professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, behavioral consultants) to implement specialized strategies and interventions.
Implements behavior support strategies and adapts programming to meet the emotional and behavioral needs of children with complex challenges.
Encourages independence where appropriate and assists in developing the child's self-confidence.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with parents, children, program staff, and supervisors.
Participates in team meetings to provide input on inclusion strategies and program development.
Maintains detailed records of child progress, incidents, and communications with families and professionals, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
Promotes and delivers safe, healthy, positive interactions, communications, diversity, and learning opportunities across all program areas.
Ensures the safety and general well-being of the supported child at all times.
Problem-solves minor issues independently, conferring with supervisor regarding progress concerns and recommendations.
Ensures equipment and program spaces are safe and sanitary before and after each program session.
Adheres to licensing requirements set forth by the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
Acts as a liaison between the general public and CRD, providing good customer service and clear communication with parents and caregivers.
Follows all policies, procedures, and standards of the CRD.
Performs other related duties as required.
Additional Information
The position term in anticipated to be (term duration) or until the child no longer requires care.
Key Skills & Abilities
Must be at least 19 years of age
Experience working with children with disabilities or additional support needs is required.
Experience working with preschool children in a licensed childcare or recreation setting is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to implement individualized support and behavior intervention plans.
Strong collaboration skills with interdisciplinary teams and external professionals.
Proficient in documenting child progress and communicating effectively with families and professionals.
Familiarity with Ministry of Children and Family Development childcare licensing regulations.
Physically and psychologically capable of performing the duties of the role.
Excellent verbal and written communications, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
