Position(s): Sr. Project Manager
Shift Schedule: 3 Weeks on, 1 week off
Location: Southern Ontario Region
Forbes Bros Ltd. is currently looking for experienced Sr. Project Manager (full-time, permanent) to join our team. The Sr. Project Manager will be a senior project leader responsible for full-cycle delivery of multiple utility construction projects or major scopes within larger programs.
The Sr. Project Manager operates with full autonomy across field and office functions, owning safety, cost, schedule, quality, and client relationships. The Sr. Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage project financials, and serve as key decision-makers throughout the execution lifecycle. This role requires strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and a commitment to mentoring emerging leaders as typical work includes complex distribution rebuilds, greenfield substation builds, and multi-work front transmission projects.

Key Responsibilities
Emulates Forbes Bros core value of 'WE WORK SAFE' in all daily tasks
Direct all phases of assigned projects, including planning, mobilization, construction, commissioning, and close-out
Coordinate inputs from engineering, procurement, and construction to enable efficient, compliant delivery
Oversee multiple scopes or sites, ensuring productivity aligns with baseline schedules and recovery actions are in place when needed
Lead cross-functional execution teams and ensure alignment with contract and client expectations
Own project P&L and oversee earned value, forecasts, and billing milestones
Manage subcontractor performance and lead commercial issue resolution
Direct change management processes in accordance with contracts and internal controls
Present project financials, updates, and variance explanations to internal and client stakeholders
Ensure execution of QA/QC plans, including ITPs, test reports, deficiency logs, and turnover documentation
Review inspection outcomes and manage close-out compliance with client and regulatory standard
Support hazard assessments, incident investigations, and implementation of corrective actions
Ensure compliance with environmental and stakeholder requirements across project scopes
Develop strong working relationships with utility clients, Indigenous partners, regulators, subcontractors, and EPC teams and provide coaching and guidance to Project Managers, Coordinators and Field leaders to develop and further their skillset
Lead project reporting, manage issue resolution, and represent the company in high-visibility meetings and contribute to internal succession planning and forecasting
Assisting with continuous improvement projects and other operational tasks, as required
What We Are Looking For
Eight (8) + years of project management experience in utility, infrastructure, or complex construction environments., are required with at least five (5) of those years being in a leadership role
Experience in transmission powerline construction, is required
Valid Class 5 Driver's License, is required.
Diploma or degree in construction, engineering, or a related technical or operational field, an asset
PMP, CET, or equivalent certification, strongly preferred
Demonstrated success delivering projects such as substation builds, transmission expansions, or multi-work front distribution programs
Strong understanding of commercial contracts, QA/QC frameworks, and technical specifications as a constructor
Proficient in Primavera P6, SAP, Procore, and industry-standard cost control and scheduling platforms
Calm, decisive leader with strong communication skills and proven ability to coordinate across disciplines and stakeholders.
Able and willing to accommodate frequent overtime hours and weekend hours when required
Able and willing to travel to various project locations as required
Able and willing to provide an acceptable five (5) year Driver's Abstract
