The backend (data ingestion, custom post types, ACF mapping) is already being handled separately. Your focus is entirely on the frontend.
This is not a theme-install job. We need someone who's done this before with real, dynamic data.
**What You'll Be Building**
You will be designing the following Ten (10) wordpress templates. Every template must be fully responsive. Not just readable on mobile, but fully functional with working filters, tables, sortable columns, and schedule views.
1. Home: Featured content, recent/upcoming games, rankings, nav to schools and teams
2. School: Hub page per college: logo, conference, teams, schedule, results
3. Team: Sport-specific record, ranking, schedule, roster, results
4. Athlete: Profile: photo, position, team, upcoming/recent games, related content.
5. Game Details: Matchup, date/time/location, status, scores, stats, links to team pages.
6. Schedule: Filterable by school, sport, date range; list view with future flexibility.
7. Rankings/Leaderboard: Sortable tables by sport and season.
8. Interview: Content page with links back to related athlete, team, or game.
9. Articles: Long-form editorial with featured image, publish date, and writer bio block.
10. Articles & Interview Archives: This page should feature links to previously posted articles and interviews, and should contain a keyword search box.
For each template, you'll define which data sections are required vs. optional so the backend engineer can map accordingly.
**What We're Looking For**
- A WordPress designer & developer with an artistic vision.
- You understand how custom post types and dynamic fields translate into page structure.
- You design mobile-first and know how to handle data-heavy layouts, including dense tables, filters, stats, etc.
- Ideally, you've worked on sports, stats, or other data-heavy sites, however this is not required.
You'll be working closely with a backend data engineer, so clear documentation and consistent naming conventions matter
**Final Deliverables**
- Fully responsive frontend templates for all nine page types, with complete functionality on both desktop and mobile
- Documented data blocks per template (required vs. optional)
- Design decisions made with backend integration in mind
