Über

We're building and maintaining a React Native app that communicates with Bluetooth hardware (IoT devices). Our AI Engine generates code — component scaffolds, API integrations, BLE communication logic. We need a senior mobile developer who can review what the AI produces, catch platform-specific issues, and handle the genuinely complex work.
What you'll do:
- Review AI-generated React Native code (components, state management, native bridges) and approve/reject with clear feedback
- Catch platform-specific issues the AI misses (iOS vs Android behaviour, deprecated APIs, hardware edge cases)
- Validate AI-generated specs for new app features before implementation
- Handle escalated implementation — features the AI flags as too complex or hardware-dependent
- Advise on BLE integration — pairing, GATT profiles, connection state, reconnection logic
- Work async — task briefs via GitHub issues, reviews via PRs
Stack:
- React Native (bare workflow, not just Expo)
- TypeScript
- BLE (react-native-ble-plx or similar) — strong plus
- Native modules / native bridge experience
- iOS and Android platform knowledge at the code level
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years React Native development
- Experience debugging on real hardware, not just simulators
- You already use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot) in your workflow
- BLE/IoT experience is a significant advantage
- Clean async communication — you write well, give actionable review feedback
- Self-directed — you don't need a PM to tell you something looks broken
How this works:
- Freelance, time & materials — log hours, invoice bi-weekly
- Async-first — GitHub issues, written briefs, occasional Loom videos
- Variable workload — driven by active mobile milestones
- Starts with a paid trial task (2-4 hours) on the actual codebase
Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 40 hours per week.
