As a Maintenance Manager, you will lead a dedicated team, committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability. We are an ambitious group, determined to successfully implement world-class maintenance processes. Your role will be crucial in planning, scheduling, and accomplishing plant equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with GMP and Safety Requirements.

What you'll be doing
  • Build and communicate a vision for the maintenance department, aligning with the Alliston Strategic Plan
  • Improve the efficiency of internal and external resources to meet business objectives
  • Foster an environment of personal and professional growth through regular feedback and mentoring
  • Manage technical resources, including Maintenance Supervisors and Industrial Programmers
  • Ensure timely and efficient execution of project implementation, plant equipment improvement, and maintenance activities to support plant goals
  • Coordinate project timelines, budget management, and compliance with validation protocols
  • Apply Lean principles to complete departmental tasks within safety, quality, time, and budget boundaries
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to plant team members, promoting alignments across valuable streams
  • Create and communicate a vision for the maintenance department in alignment with Alliston Strategic Plan.
  • Maximize the effectiveness of internal and external resources (business unit and cross business unit) to meet business objectives.
  • Create and maintain an environment where team members experience personal and professional growth and become more self-directed team through regular feedback and coaching.
  • Manage technical resources across the facility including Maintenance/Reliability Superintendent, Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Planner, Industrial Programmers, CNC Machinist, Industrial Programmer Electricians and Millwrights.
  • Responsible for ensuring project implementation, plant equipment improvement, PM's, and maintenance activities are executed in a timely, efficient manner to support plant goals of OEE, Perfect Equipment, Project Deadlines, safety, quality and cost.
  • In partnership with MGR-II, Engineering is responsible for overall management (including multimillion-dollar budgets) of project timelines associated with generating equipment design specifications, procurement, design of experiments, factory acceptance testing, installation, coordination of validation activities, standard operating procedure (SOP) generation, and implementation in functional areas.
  • Support the capital planning process and create business cases for CPA' s as required for presentation to senior leadership.
  • Establish project requirements, vendor contracts, design and implementation plans in conjunction with other plant stakeholders.
  • Ensure departmental compliance for master change control management and validation protocols.
  • Utilize Lean principles to manage successful completion of departmental tasks within the boundaries of safety, quality, time and budget.
  • Provide guidance, support, direction, and leadership through positive interactions with plant team members, building synergies across valuable streams
  • Ensure team skills are optimized through cross-training, mentorship, and in-depth performance management and development planning
  • Ensure quality and regulatory compliance through CAPA process in support of
    Operations, as well as ensuring a compliant and efficient Preventable Maintenance program.
  • Support the release of product by completing process exception documents, open issues identified in weekly/quarterly, annual quality checks and close audit items.
  • Plan and Monitor Preventative Maintenance Schedules and Equipment Repair;
  • Coordinate with Calibration Technician to ensure all requirements are completed on time
  • Participate in the planning, specification development and implementation of new equipment and/or equipment modifications.
  • Assist with process improvements that will require specification creation or change requests, software changes and modification to any process.
  • Monitor and achieve Maintenance's Annual Operating Plan Budget
  • Planning building maintenance and operating programs. Ensuring efficiency of all equipment. Preparing operating reporting and budgets. Ensuring all processes and compliance programs are met. Ensuring all utility systems are inspected and in accordance with regulations
  • Identify, develop, evaluate and participate in solutions, as required for VIPs, process productivity improvements, system/facility upgrades, quality/regulatory and EHS.
  • Provide solutions and costs for future budgets.
  • Overseeing all building functions, provide support in investigation process to resolve production and support services. Recommend alternatives and potential modifications.
What you'll bring
  • College Diploma in Engineering or Skilled Trade Certification
  • 3-5 years of applicable experience in managing projects and people
  • Able to manage facility projects and day to day operations with technical support and limited supervision provided
  • Strong communication, negotiation skills, and ability to work with all organization levels
  • Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD software

We understand that compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated salary range for this position is $107,520 - $147,840 annually, which reflects base salary as well as estimated target payout under the Management Incentive Compensation Plan. Individual pay will be determined based upon skills, expertise and experience, and the incentive, which is contingent upon company and individual performance outcomes.
