Position: Operations Representative - Pensions Services
Position Type: 2 (two) Full-time, Temporary, Included (Internal/External)
Ending on or before March 31, 2027
Location: Edmonton, AB (In office Windermere Blvd SW)
Classification: T/AS III
Salary Range: $50,709.00 to $61,205.00
Closing Date: February 20, 2026, at 4:00 pm MST

Reviewing benefit calculations — and sometimes wearing your detective hat — are required You have strong skills in customer service and understand the sensitivity required for financial transactions. No matter which hat you're wearing, there's no detail too small for your keen eye's attention
A typical day for the Operations Representative
Process initial and re-executed benefit requests, including manual calculations and actioning of Quality Assurance Modules (QAMs)
Verification of benefit request workflows
Plan, execute, process, verify and manage data integrity for both scheduled and ad hoc batch processes
Interact daily with internal peers and potentially communicate with external members or financial institutions
Manage incoming and outgoing mail including routing, assignment and identification/correction of anomalies in administrative materials
Manage returned mail in accordance with guidelines and applicable processes
Update member, pensioner and corporate information records beyond basic data entry
Use programs and software such as Microsoft Office and other pension administration tools to identify and validate data preparation of externally circulated materials, both one-off and batch scenarios, not limited to identifying applicable content in accordance with APS' approved style guide
Collaborate with various business units including the Member Services Centre, Employer Services and other production teams to obtain information required to complete client requests.
What you bring
Certificate or diploma in business or finance is desirable
1-2 years of experience in a business or financial institution where calculations are performed, policies and procedures are followed, and a client focus exists
Aptitude for mathematical and financial concepts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of specific benefits and pension plans is an asset
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Knowledge of pension legislation and policies is desirable
Enrollment in the Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) is an asset
