Join our thriving logistics center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as a Material Handler! We are looking for strong, dependable individuals to manage the movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. Your primary responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to transport goods, loading and unloading shipments, staging materials for production or shipping, and ensuring the safe and efficient flow of inventory. This role requires a solid understanding of warehouse operations, safety procedures, and the ability to handle materials with care. You will be a critical part of our logistics chain, ensuring that materials are readily available and properly stored. Safety is our utmost priority; you must be certified to operate equipment and adhere to all safety regulations, including the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, possesses excellent equipment operating skills, and is committed to maintaining an orderly and productive work environment. Experience with various types of material handling equipment and a valid forklift certification are essential. We offer competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items to and from designated storage areas.
- Stage materials for production lines, shipping, or receiving.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on material handling equipment.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counting and verifying stock levels.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear aisles and safe pathways.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Demonstrated experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
- Proficiency in reading load tags, work orders, and equipment operating manuals.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of basic logistics and inventory management.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and accident-free workplace.
