We are looking for a dedicated Warehouse Technician to maintain and optimize the operational flow of our facility in Detroit, Michigan. This role is essential for ensuring our warehouse equipment is in top working condition, supporting the broader logistics network. You will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and troubleshooting of various warehouse machinery, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on warehouse equipment (e.g., conveyor systems, forklifts, automated machinery).
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the use of appropriate PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment.
- Collaborate with operations teams to identify potential equipment improvements.
- Support general warehouse tasks as needed, including material handling and organization.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and best practices for lifting and equipment operation.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
