We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. The successful candidate will be proficient in operating various types of forklifts to manage inventory within our busy distribution center. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading freight, moving materials to and from production, and ensuring accurate placement in storage areas. Safety is our top priority, and you will be expected to adhere to all OSHA regulations and company safety standards, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to perform physical tasks, including consistent lifting. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transport goods.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Move inventory between different areas of the warehouse.
- Stack and retrieve items from racking systems.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any defects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and management as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of forklift operating experience.
- Valid forklift certification and clean driving record.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable and able to work flexible shifts if required.
