We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our warehouse, involving the movement and organization of materials. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and preparing materials for shipment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks. The ideal candidate is physically fit, possesses a strong work ethic, and is committed to maintaining a safe and orderly work environment. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced setting and to handle a variety of materials. Attention to detail is crucial for accurate inventory management and order fulfillment. Your contributions will directly impact our supply chain's effectiveness. We value teamwork and provide a supportive atmosphere for all our employees. Ensuring the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a daily requirement.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and prepare materials for outgoing shipments.
- Operate manual and powered material handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Keep the warehouse clean and organized.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment.
- Support the broader Logistics team as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring frequent and significant Lifting, up to 70 lbs.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with warehouse Safety practices.
- Knowledge of basic Logistics procedures.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
