Are you detail-oriented and possess a strong understanding of inventory management? We are looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Washington, D.C. This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of inventory accuracy, from receiving to shipping. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, managing stock levels, and investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies. Your efforts will ensure the integrity of our stock and support our overall logistics operations. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining a highly organized and efficient warehouse environment. This position requires meticulous record-keeping and the ability to analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. You will work closely with warehouse staff and management to ensure the smooth flow of goods and information. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to all protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is expected.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective inventory control procedures.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between inventory records and actual stock.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, optimize stock levels, and reduce waste.
- Manage the receiving and put-away process to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with the shipping department to ensure accurate order fulfillment.
- Oversee the organization and layout of inventory within the warehouse.
- Generate reports on inventory status, accuracy, and movement.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety regulations and company policies.
- Support Logistics planning through accurate inventory data.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business or Logistics is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and Logistics principles.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate Lifting, up to 40 lbs.
- Strong understanding of Safety procedures.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
