We are seeking a skilled Reach Truck Operator to join our logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this specialized role, you will be responsible for operating a reach truck to efficiently store and retrieve inventory in high-density racking systems. Your expertise is crucial for optimizing warehouse space and ensuring accurate inventory management. This position requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional operational skills, and an unwavering commitment to Safety. You will play a key role in the smooth functioning of our distribution operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck safely and efficiently to place and retrieve pallets from various levels of racking.
- Move, stack, and consolidate inventory within the warehouse to maximize space utilization.
- Perform accurate put-away and replenishment of stock based on system directives or supervisor instructions.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks and routine maintenance on the reach truck, reporting any issues promptly.
- Verify product information and quantities against shipping orders or receiving documents.
- Assist with inventory control measures, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment, adhering to all Safety regulations.
- Support other warehouse activities as directed, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
- Follow all company procedures for material handling, documentation, and Safety protocols.
- Ensure accurate and timely movement of goods to meet operational demands.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating reach trucks in a warehouse environment is essential.
- Valid certification or documented proof of reach truck operator training.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring precise maneuvering in tight spaces.
- Must be able to handle frequent Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures, especially those related to high racking and specialized equipment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and logistics operations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Must wear appropriate PPE, including safety shoes and eye protection.
- Ability to work independently and meet productivity goals.
